Overview

Hop aboard the Starship Sprout and travel through an infinite universe of plant life and intergalactic oddities. 

In this procedurally generated space adventure, you are Captain Brussels of the Starship Sprout - a Botany Hunter on the back foot of alien horticulture, desperately trying to become the best botanist in space! 

The more plants you collect and planets you explore, the higher Captain Brussels climbs up the Botany Hunter Leaderboard. Unlock new items and perks as you progress, but watch out! If your oxygen supplies reach zero...you'll quickly drop down the board (and let Cpt. Brussels die).

Gather unidentified plant life from mysterious, never before seen, planets and cultivate new species to power your ship. Sell plant life to researchers and upgrade your equipment; or cross-breed them to create unique plants tailored to your needs.

The Story So Far...

Destroyed by corporate greed, overpopulation and a disregard for the environment, Earth is a wasteland, devoid of nearly all plant life. As resources began to dwindle, the world's top minds put their heads together to find a solution. Much head-butting ensued and little was achieved.

That was until the President of The World Alliance of Technocrats (T.W.A.Ts) stumbled across a relic from the 21st century - a VHS tape of Dog the Bounty Hunter. This got him thinking, what if we employed a group of space mercenaries, privately contracted to collect intergalactic plant life, much like how Dog is privately contracted to capture criminals? 

It was the perfect solution for an Earth ruled by technocrats and corporations: outsource the work to someone else. These space mercenaries took to the stars in search of alien plant life, sending their findings back to Earth.  They quickly became know as the Botany Hunters. 

To encourage competition and increase the amount of plant life sent back to earth, the Botany Hunter Leaderboard was established. Whilst some botany hunters found renown and riches, quickly climbing the leaderbaord, others found themselves at the bottom of the pile. 

Captain Brussels of the Starship Sprout took up the T.W.A.Ts charter with great zeal, only he quickly discovered botany hunting to be a hairy profession. Tired of losing out to better hunters, Captain Brussels is putting everything he's got into climbing the leaderboard and becoming the greatest botany hunter in history.
